In Christianity, the Eighth Order of Angels is the Archangel. There are differing opinions through sects of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam of who and how many Archangels there were. What remains constant throughout is Saint Michael the Archangel.
Saint Michael is the leader of the armies of God, among many other duties. Most importantly, Saint Michael is invoked for protection, especially against lethal enemies and is said to be the patron of Soldiers, Police Officers, and Doctors.
Our name and our wing logo pay homage to Saint Michael as we work tirelessly to raise awareness and money for Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). On the battlefield, Saint Michael protected us from harm. Today, he continues to protect us here at home on this new battlefield.
This original artwork was done by retired United States Army Veteran and artist Frank Allen, owner of Fallen Graphics. It was commissioned by Eighth Order, Inc. to represent our mission. The depiction is Saint Michael casting Satan from Heaven. On sandy battlefields we often invoked him to protect us. Let us remember him now and invoke his name against PTS and TBI.
